We will be disabling Telnet shell access to Rocko in the near future.
Please begin to connect via the Secure Shell service.
Below is a quick how-to using a free secure shell client but you may use any.

Vist the below site to obtain Putty.
Putty - http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/

For this how-to I will be using the latest windows installer, version 0.60.

After running the install click the programs icon to start the program and setup the connection.


Next set the "Host Name" to rocko.csuchico.edu then Enter Rocko into the "Saved Sessions" box and click save.


Now you can click open to connect to Rocko. A dialog alert may/will popup the first time you connect. Select Yes.


The login prompt will appear just as with telnet and you may now login with your username and password.
